Appearance[]

Notos's coat is black, while his mane and tail are shaggy and blue. His wings are the same color as his mane. His eyes are a deep, aqua color.^[1] Notos also wears decorative barding on the cannons of his front legs in his first appearance.^[2]

Personality[]

Notos has a big heart. He's always chasing his dreams. Notos rides the winds through the tropical lands North of North. He loves sunshine and hot weather. Notos loves flying fast. Every day he chases the sun across the sky, trying to catch the fiery orb. Everyone knows you can’t catch the sun. But Notos chases it anyway. Because the thrill is in the chasing, not the catching.^[2]

During the 2008 "Quest for the Lost Horse" event, Falcha could only be unlocked with Notos's and three other horses' codes.

The Name Game[]

Notos is named after the classical Greek Notus, one of the four Anemoi, or winds. Notus was the South Wind, the bringer of storms in late summer and autumn.^[2]^[3]

Ancient Lights[]

Notos was introduced as an "Ancient Lights" promo card for the 2008 "Quest for the Lost Horse" event that celebrated the arrival of the "Magical Friends" series. His card was given out for free to customers who bought Bella Sara card packs from participating stores during the week of May 23 - 29th.^[4]

Notos's card is also included in Bella & Sara 2010 Keepsake tins.^[5]
